On July 1st a subsidy program opens for innovative renewable energy projects. This program is aimed at Dutch entrepreneurs that are looking to export a new renewable energy service or product with a high potential for the international market. The product or service has to be completely new and needs to be passed the prototype stage.
The subsidy maximum is 20 million euro, and will be granted in a tender. Proposals that get enough points, get subsidy in order of entry until the budget is fully granted. Financing of the applicant’s share needs to be arranged and sufficient. Considered eligible costs are experimental development (30%) and investment (70%).
Examples of projects that are considered eligible are coming from Dutch companies producing new equipment / technologies for converting biomass to electricity / warmth, for example biogas digesters (small/medium/big), waste-to-energy installations, pyrolysis installations, biomass gasification and sustainable cooking methods or other renewable energy innovations.
