Presentation: Guidelines Design with Recycled Plastics

On the 23rd of september, Eelco Smit, Sustainability Director of Philips International, presented the Guidelines Design with Recycled Plastics at the Kunststoffenbeurs in Veldhoven (NL).

In these Guidelines the most important tips and tricks  for the application of recycled plastic in (high-end) injection moulding products were presented. The Guidelines are the result of a chain project for the Dutch Plastics Industry Association (NRK-MJA-3), initiated by Philips and Partners for Innovation. The idea for this project started in the working group ‘Recyclate and Product Design’ of the Dutch Plastic Value Chain Agreement.

In the project, six leading industrial companies from the Netherlands worked together to develop guidelines and video casestudies, describing the whole process needed for the application of recycled plastics.

Partners for Innovation coordinated and organised the project. By sharing this information with designers, R&D staff, suppliers and plastic converters, we hope to inspire the rest of the market to use more recycled plastics in high-end products.
