E+Co invests in clean energy in developing countries. In 2009, 2010 and 2011, Partners for Innovation wrote various project plans and grant applications for E+Co and the local businesses it supports.

Global sustainable biomass
The plans included both promotion of technical and financial support for E+Co as well as concrete project plans for renewable energy in South Africa, Mali, Senegal and Tanzania. Among other things Partners for Innovation submitted a successful grant application for the Global Sustainable Biomass Fund for the South African biogas project Bio2Watt.
