From 19 to 22 March, Emiel Hanekamp attended the ECOWAS Regional Bioenergy Forum in Bamako, Mali. The Forum was organised by the ECOWAS Centre for Sustainable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) and the Global Energy Partnership (GBEP).
The objective of the forum was to initiate an international dialogue and peer-to-peer learning to support the ECOWAS member states in developing their bioenergy strategies and policies. With over 170 participants, the forum was well attended; all ECOWAS countries were present with a large delagation.
GBEP Pilot Sustainability Indicators
At the forum Tanko Hamza from the Ghana Renewable Energy Agency (presidents’ office) and Ralph Brieskorn from the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment presented the progress of the GBEP-pilot Sustainability Indicators in Ghana. Partners for Innovation is responsible for the execution of the pilot commissioned by NL Agency.
Emiel Hanekamp prepared the presentation and consulted with the Ghanese representatives on progress and planning of the project with among others, the Energy Commission, the Ministery of Energy, the Ministery of Food and Agriculture and the Ministery of Environment and Technology.
