Partners for Innovation and Maurits Groen Milieu & Communicatie are assisting companies in becoming ‘climate neutral’. They have launched the website www.CO2-neutraal.nu. The website (for the moment only available in Dutch) offers information for organisations and persons who want to take action against climate change. On the website, you can assess which steps to take to establish the CO2-emission of your product or organisations and how to decrease or compensate this emission. Implementation of the EPBD in Flanders: E-pact software
In the framework of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), all EU Member States have to implement an ‘energy performance certificate’ for new and existing buildings. The Flemish government has contracted Epact Software for this implementation. The objective is to (together with research institutes VITO and WTCB) develop a Flemish energy performance certificate for existing houses. The certification methodology will comprise a software tool, manuals, an inspection protocol, education / training and a helpdesk. A pre-requisite is that the certification has to be reliable, simple and cheap. As a result, the inspection of the houses has to be simple and well adapted to the current Flemish building practice and housing stock. PfI has provided the project leader for this project.
